On the Hunt for Alabama's Waterfalls with Kids

Alabama has at least 25 waterfalls worth hiking out to and probably many more beyond that. We recently spent our 4 days and 3 nights Labor Day weekend camping in Northern Alabama on the hunt for some gorgeous waterfalls. We brought along our two kids; ages 3 and 1. We tent camped in Desoto State Park and in Noccalula Falls Park. Tent camping with toddlers is not for the faint of heart, but we were surprised with how well our two did. Our days were spent hiking and hunting waterfalls and our evenings were spent roasting marshmallows; a perfect trip in my opinion. We are going to share which waterfalls we visited and some tips for making the most of your Alabama adventure!

We traveled to Switzerland with our kids in April 2018. I had been to Switzerland twice before. I knew it was expensive. However, the prices never get easier to accept. Every time I go, I feel shocked by the prices of everything. From croissants to diapers to mailing something home; everything is very expensive. Switzerland with no kids is expensive, Switzerland with kids is super expensive. More mouths to feed with pricey food. In order for us to be able to travel as much as we do, we can't travel in full Lux. We try our hardest to stick to a budget. We made a plan before we arrived in Switzerland and stuck to it for the duration. We complied our tips for traveling Switzerland on a Budget.

Paris. The City of Lights. The places where dreamers go to dream, fashionistas go to twirl in dresses at the foot of the Eiffel tower, the place of slow walks through the park and where macaroons and red wine seem endless. So many people dream of their time in Paris. I know I did before my first visit. I was 17 when I first laid eyes on the city; it was fascinating. I returned 3 more times; all different experiences. At 31 I returned for my 5th rendezvous with my old friend. This time, like the other times, I felt comfort in the familiarity and surprise at the differences.

This trip was different because I brought my children. Seeing them explore new places is exciting to me, but this time it felt more exciting and more personal. This IS Paris after all.
